Healing in Harmony with Nature
In keeping with Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's teaching of reverence for nature, SSSIHMS pursues a range of green initiatives across its campus — conserving water and energy, expanding green cover and managing waste responsibly.
These efforts ensure that the work of healing people goes hand in hand with care for the environment.
Our Green Programmes
Rain Water Harvesting
Several rainwater harvesting initiatives capture and recharge groundwater across the campus.
Solar Power Plant
The first hospital in the country to install its own 100 KVA solar power plant — with a further 180 KVA planned.
Trees on Campus
108 trees transplanted into the campus during the Bangalore Metro works in front of the hospital.
Power Conservation
Air-conditioning optimisation and LED lighting across the hospital reduce power consumption.
Water Use Maximization
One of the first hospitals in Bangalore with its own water treatment plant — water is recycled through sullage and sewage treatment for flushing, then again for the gardens.
Waste Management
All hospital waste is segregated and responsibly recycled or disposed — turning waste into wealth.
Biomedical Waste
Safe, compliant management and reporting of biomedical waste.
